Substance Abuse Programs

WNY Occupational Health Care provides substance abuse testing during normal business hours.  The hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM, Holidays excluded.  The testing is provided for Pre-employment, Post Accident, Return to Duty, Follow Up, Random and Reasonable Cause*.  All testing is performed in accordance with applicable State and Federal Regulations in regards to the Collection, Security, Screening and the Confirmation of Positive Results.

After normal business hours and holidays, testing is available for Post Accident and "Reasonable Cause" situations.  An On-Call Occupational Health team member would test the individual in the Emergency Department of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, in the Occupational Health Clinic or on-site at the employer location.  There is an additional fee for on call services.  Companies need to be set up in our network prior to use.  The On-Call Technician WILL NOT respond without prior arrangements.

A variety of different test panels are available.  Specimens may be tested for five or more drug metabolites.  Hair testing is also available.  All testing is in accordance with industry & national standards.

Medical Review Officer on staff and reviews all positive results at no additional charge.

Breath Alcohol Testing is available.  The testing is performed in accordance with the Department of Transportation guidelines for Evidential Breath Testing.

WNY Occupational Health Care can also provide Third Party Administration (TPA) services for employers who are required to maintain compliance with Federal Regulations for random testing and statistical record keeping.  In addition, many employers may choose to use a TPA to manage their company programs as well.  In some cases, there is no additional fee for this service.
